Julie LaCombe is a native Texan who is proud of her heritage. She enjoys researching her ancestry with her father John who is a published author himself. Julie loves writing for children of all ages. Fun picture books to early chapter book and middle grade historical fiction. Her passion is American and Texas history and hopes to bring excitement to learning our history.
Julie is a former teacher of gifted students and American History. She loved being able to bring history alive for her students through activities such as medieval feasts, studying and presenting mock trials, and speech writing for presidential debates.
She is currently working on several children’s picture books, a middle grade historical fiction, and is plotting a YA novel featuring one of her ancestors.
Julie enjoys spending her free time gardening with her two teenage daughters, as well as quiet time reading about history or enjoying a laugh with the latest Janet Evanovich novel. Her greatest supporter and encourager is her husband of 15 years. Her 2 comical Havanese, Max & Ruby provide her with material for her picture books.
