#Halloweensie Contest Entry (99 words)
The House on Jack Street
By Julie LaCombe
I opened the creaking door to the house on Jack Street and peered inside. It was exactly as I remembered. The only residents visible were the spiders who had decorated the room with their gossamer webs.
The moon was shining through the window highlighting the old Formica table in the kitchen. This was where the ghost was seen most often. I hoped she would appear on this Halloween night like she had last year. I settled in a kitchen chair and waited.
Suddenly a cold wind blew through the house and the ghostly woman appeared.
“Grandma! I’ve missed you!”
.
Fun unexpected twist. How cute.
